Double Whammy

So, since I am a slacker I am going to have to mesh the Grateful Wednesday & Weekend Recap posts in one. You know what's so bad - I read about 6 other blogs on a daily basis and I EXPECT them to blog EVERYDAY yet I can't even seem to blog every other day - thank goodness I have a total of 3 followers on a good day - pressure is off!

Alright, for some reason Wednesday seems to be my blah days - yet grateful Wednesday forces me to be not so blah - so here goes nothin...

1. My job - and the little perks!
Yes, the discount - totes amaze - however I fall in love with these little guys and though they don't go with ANYTHING - I repeat they do not go with a single item in my closet - I just can't seem to let them go:

And in the mean time this little love is outside the store - love!!
I mean how could you NOT love a BABY ZEBRA?!
(yes, yes I am a bit nervous - yes he is cute, yes he is smallER, but still a zebra, people)

2. Gifts from mi madre
While my mom was gallivanting around the entire state of California she brought us back some treats:
It went well with invite arts & crafts.

3. Happy Mornings :)
I need to be more thankful for good mornings like today. Just genuine good happy mornings. I get caught up in "what's the next step" so frequently that I seem to forget to enjoy the current "step". There will be days one day that I miss things like this. So here is to being grateful for the current step.
"Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the thing you only hoped for"
I am sure I have used this before but umm yeah I think I should post it every week just so I read it a couple times.

4. Before & Afters
I love little easy updates on the house, though we need big updates as well, the small ones can make a big impact - on me at least haha. Hence why I LOVE LOVE LOVE this blog
        Before                                         After

5. My CUTE Grandparents
who came to visit this weekend!

What's in your "weekender" bag?

I have a list of home improvement (I know, that makes it sound soooo boring - I promise - it's not!) projects in my "weekender" bag - here are just a few ideas! :)
Weekend Project!

Grateful Wednesday

I realize that I am a day late, yes I know, but I got super busy yesterday. But before I got super busy I already created my list, so here it goes:

It's already Wednesday again!

1. God's Timing
This one has been tough as of lately. Growing up I felt like everything fell into place, I could truly see everything happening for a reason right before me - before I even had time to think about what was next it just happened. Lately I feel like "everything happens for a reason" has slowed down. I don't understand the timing, but I must trust that God's timing means everything. I must not rush along these events in our life - I must trust - trust in His timing, not mine.

2. Weeknights
Lately we have been grilling, cooking dinner and having a "normal" life. It feels so great to come home, eat dinner, and just hang out. I feel settled and grateful.

3. The Swing
Even though Summer is officially here, cough cough 101 this weekend (BLAH!), in the evenings I can still enjoy it for a short while - before the mosquitoes and heat carry me away!
(my view on the swing)

4. The Little House that could!
As much work as it has needed I love our little house. We have done some updates and there still plenty more to do but I enjoy it. I am loving watching our house transform and that WE are doing it! :) Hopefully we will be making a few updates this weekend - if so I'll post some before and after pictures!

5. I get to see Kristin Today!
My old boss, Kristin, is coming in from London TODAY! I started working in marketing and less than a month later my most favorite boss EVER announced that her and her husband were moving to London that winter. I was SO SO sad, because honestly I can say one of the reasons I applied for my position was because I would get to work with Kristin! She is a wonderful person and an amazing role model with an absolutely dedicated work ethic. I am just so excited to see her today - grateful that I get to!

Weekend Recap

Apparently this should just be called "my weekend in food" because that is all I took pictures of!
yep, totally one of those Cheese McGee's taking pics of their food
...all weekend long...
believe me I am even sparing you guys of a few...
ridiculous, out of control, food photography
(and by "ridiculous and out of control" I mean in quantity not quality)

Nonetheless, it was a wonderful weekend filled with catching up with old friends we haven't seen in a while. We have been busy to say the least or maybe I have just been so caught up in life lately that I haven't stopped to enjoy the friends and people around us. Sure I have been in company with them and yes it has been fun, but I don't think that I have been fully grateful and thankful. Friends are a wonderful thing - they are there for you even if you don't necessary see them or feel them (if that makes any sense at all). I guess I don't know how to explain it but its that imaginary support group. Yes, when things go awry you have your family right there and some of your close friends - and please note I am not discounting them what so ever - but it is those friends who I might not see very frequently that all of a sudden are so supportive in their own way - so refreshing. You know what is crazy? I feel like these are my adopted friends too - meaning they have adopted ME - they are my husbands old friends who now, I would consider, are just as much my friends :)
alright, alright - off my soap box I go...

Thank heavens for friends...and good ones at that!

it all started with breakfast Saturday morning - I was feeling a tad domestic might I say...

Dinner at Fireside Pies
their sangria is to d-d-d-i-e for! I also had a glass of Garganega it was crisp and delicious - perfect for the summer :)

Yes and yes - can I have this every night for dinner?

There is no better way to end a food induced weekend than by Taverna on Sunday, with a side of preferential treatment (just a little bit alright already).
WARNING: $1 Mimosas and $1 Bellinis

And I just have one more picture - oh my is that a human in my picture...ah yes, yes it is...that would be my wonderful husband. AND a new experience for me - a bow shop (is that what you call it? - anywho - a store where they sell bow and arrows and practice and what not). :)

Happy Monday, Ladies and Gents!

Grateful Wednesday!

Yes, yes I know it has been forever...but I have been a busy busy girl. Between wedding, bachelorette parties, and shower (...OH MY - sorry I just couldn't help myself) and a little thing called work it has been cray cray. Oh and getting back into the swing of things after vacay - yeah no funsies. Alright, yes I know this is supposed to be a grateful post (NOT a whine about nothing post) so onward my friend

1. Mi Madre
I have the most wonderful mother ever - she has given up everything to be MY MOM. So here's to her!
I love you Mom!
(a little picture preview from our vacay)

2. Prayers

3. Arts & Crafts
a little sneak peek at bachelorette party invites!

4. Marriage
What a wonderful and beautiful sacrament - so incredibly blessed!

I still get giddy when I see this - it just makes me so happy!
even after:
yep, 600 days - alright I know that's not crazy long but it feels like yesterday (and I am sure I will be saying the same thing on day 18,250 - that's 50 years - confession: I stole that from a song - sorry it was necessary to be that lovey gushy peeps)

5. Heels (and on that note being able to wear them!)
oh, manolo how I love thee.

Well folks, Happy Wednesday!
